We started Hearts Desire Farm 8 years ago, with the desire to grow healthy sustainable organic garlic and other local produce and flowers. It was an established century old farmstead of 82 acres on the side of the beautiful Niagara Escarpment full of rich ancient soils left from glacial deposits and nutrient from the escarpment. We respect the land and maintain with organic growing standards.

We at Hearts Desire Farm have our produce and flowers in our NEW STORE 207-1 Hurontario Street in Downtown Collingwood, at the Collingwood Farmers market on Saturdays (May 18th to October 12th 2024), and our farm stand at the end of our lane as weather permits: Contact us for details.

Farm fresh local garlic is one of our main passions. We grow over 20 varieties ranging from strong full flavoured to milder, subtle flavoured garlic each with its own wonderful character. Each year we plant in the fall and in the early spring they sprout from the soil. 

The first treat to reward us are the tiny spring garlic greens, packed with flavour.

Next: the garlic scapes, the initial green shoots from the garlic bulbs, which have a lovely subtle garlic flavour that is aromatic in salads or to accent any fresh healthy dish. 

Onto June and into the summer we pick the fresh garlic cloves which are full of rich juicy garlic flavour and wonderful to eat raw if you enjoy a strong burst of garlic and excellent to cook with as well.

As we are harvesting bulbs from late spring into fall, we gather bunches of green bulbs, pulling from the earth and hang them to cure in our century old barn. The dry bulbs will keep us and you with a hearty supply of garlic from late summer through the winter for those warm, rich dishes of healthy comfort food.

Growing in the field, growing in the greenhouse is a variety of in season vegetables tomateo, peppers, salad greens, herbs, squash, brassicas, Zucchini and more. Wild and edible flowers, sunflowers, zinnias.

I just want to thank you for having visited our Hearts Desire "pop up" farmers market on First Street (NOW CLOSED) and supporting us as we have grown!

As you know we are at the Collingwood Farmers Market seasonally. The market is currently done for the season but we look forward to being back in 2025!
